Personal, Emotional & Social Development

Personal, Social & Emotional Development is crucial for children to lead happy and healthy lives. At Berry Hill we promote a 'Take Care' ethos whereby children learn to take care of themselves, others, belongings, their work, school and wider world. Taking care of others incorporates respect and the appreciation of diversity in nursery, school and in the wider world. Within nursery children develop a sense of belonging, develop relationship and are supported in discussing feelings, sharing and managing conflict.  Our class bear 'Ted Bear' is an aid to circle times where children take turn to talk and discuss events, ideas and feelings.  Children find out about their peers though sharing their 'All About Me' Boxes.
